Debian Packages: tetex-bin tetex-extra

LATEX and TEX are sophisticated document typesetting systems. LATEX is a mark-up language where you edit text documents (using any editor of choice) and include mark-up to tell the formatter how to produce the final printed page. Unlike proprietary word processing systems, like MS Word, LATEX is available freely on most platforms and documents produced on one platform will be identical to that produced on another platform.
