Creating an Analysis Engine

An analysis engine is an algorithm that takes data from a log file, compares it to rules or a set of rules in a symptom catalog, and returns an array of objects representing the solutions and directives for the matched symptoms.

The Log and Trace Analyzer provides a set of tools that can be used to implement an Analysis Engine and to plug it into the workbench.

• Implementing a log analyzer
  The log analyzer is plugged into the workbench and exposes the analysis engine to the user interface.
  
• Implementing an analysis engine
  The analysis engine analyzes the data.
  
• Testing the analysis engine
  Once you have created both the analysis engine and the log analyzer, you can test your analysis engine in the Log and Trace Analyzer.
