GtkLayout creates the
illusion of a container with infinite size. Because X
windows are limited to 32,768 pixels in size (2^15),
most widgets also have a 32,768-pixel size limit (and
child widgets must be positioned within the parent's X
window). Naive widgets scroll by simply moving their
GdkWindow. GtkLayout is more intelligent about
this.
