Q: How to disable Ctrl+Alt+Del from restarting computer in Console mode?

  1. Read General Notes
  2. sudo cp /etc/inittab /etc/inittab_backup
    sudo gedit /etc/inittab
  3. Find this line
    ...
    ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t1 -a -r now
    ...
  4. Replace with the following line
    #ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t1 -a -r now
  5. Save the edited file (sample)
  6. sudo telinit q
