To check which packages are dependent on another use the
dependents command:
$ dependents r-base

d r-base-latex
d r-cran-xml

s r-doc-info
d med-physics

Here, the package ess
suggests r-base
while
med-physics
depends on r-base. Other
relationships include r for recommends, p for
replaces, and c for conflict.
