25.2.3.8. mysql_create_db()

int mysql_create_db(MYSQL *mysql, const char *db)

Description

Creates the database named by the db parameter.

This function is deprecated. It is preferable to use mysql_query() to issue an SQL CREATE DATABASE statement instead.

Return Values

Zero if the database was created successfully. Non-zero if an error occurred.

Errors

  • CR_COMMANDS_OUT_OF_SYNC

    Commands were executed in an improper order.

  • CR_SERVER_GONE_ERROR

    The MySQL server has gone away.

  • CR_SERVER_LOST

    The connection to the server was lost during the query.

  • CR_UNKNOWN_ERROR

    An unknown error occurred.

Example

if(mysql_create_db(&mysql, "my_database"))
{
   fprintf(stderr, "Failed to create new database. Error: %s\n",
           mysql_error(&mysql));
}
